has any one seen the trailers etc for this on u tube etc. how ace is sc2 goign to be. i still play the first one. its brilliant. i cant wait. any one else love the starcraft as much as me?>

maybe blizzard should make a "world of starcraft" game. but not charge you every month to play. because thats a f***ing rip off.

I'm quite looking forward to it, I really need a good RTS on my system (especially after AOE3 let me down) anyway, should be good! Any idea when it comes out? 'cause I'm clueless for stuff like that.

On a totally unrelated topic - Blizzard are infact making a Next gen MMO, I would cite you the information, but my internets restricting me to only use bushtarion (and that's no joke)

I like starcraft also, but Blizzard shouldn't change the game style to world of starcraft, for one the word world was used since its such a big game, starcraft has a kind of a quest mode but its not too great. They should stick to what the game was based upon RTS (Real Time Strategy) instead of making it a MMORPG. If you want a game like world of warcraft try out Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. It's a quest game like it but there are 3-4 levels of difficulty, Normal,Nightmare,Hell, and something else in there somewhere.

I think they made the game a little too flashy myself, as I saw Starcraft as being plain, and I liked the gameplay etc.
The only real graphics was at the startup of Starcraft.

i loved Star craft

the multiplyer was fun and simple not too many secrets to it just fun and easy

I disagree entirely. It's a lot better for them to charge monthly fees to pay for the server than it is to incorporate the costs into the initial software purchase, for two main reasons.

Firstly, it means that the longer you play, the more you'll pay towards the server, which seems fair; why should someone who plays for 3 months pay the same as someone who plays for a year?

Secondly, it means that people can't just torrent the software and play the game free; they still need to pay the monthly fee.

I agree.

Games with monthly costs tend to be better. More finished/Better graphics/Updates etc etc.

Only exception i can think of is Guild Wars. And even so, WoW is far better...

I will never agree. Monthly payed games are not for me and for many others.
If you want to make good game that SUPPORTS multiplayer gaming and not only is made for such then that game should cost in store not every freaking month you want to play it with others.
Games like WoW etc are ruining reputation of games and are not for normal people. Those are games which you cant just remember you have somewhere and install and go have some fun. Or have at your comp for ages and get forgotten untill you notice you still have such.
I have player starcraft broodwar for years now and i still have it on my comp and i still occasinoally play it but i wouldnt have EVER even bought it if i would need to pay monthly of playing it.
And i wouldnt ever buy starcraft 2 yet due being satisfied customer of first part im thinking of buying 2nd one.

im with bw on this.

if the game was free. and the only charge was the monthly fee. and was on something like a steam account.
then maybe monthly paying would be acceptable

but to pay for the game. then pay to play. its a bit to rich for me. i know it costs money to keep a game uptodate. but i just dont like the thought of having to pay to play once you have BOUGHT the game.

if the game was free. and you paid to play then maybe.

anyway. sc 2 is not a MMO rpg thank god. its a stratergy game. and i would have prefered they kept it a very graphical 2d and didnt try and complicate it and make it 3d. so its easier to run at high speeds. and then those maps people make where you get endless spawning units would be possible for those on weaker connection. i just hope i dont need vista to play tyhis game. hell i dont even have xp. lol

This game is gonna be Epic. It has big shoes to fill, but i think Blizzard can pull it off.

I can't wait for them to start working on the zerg, always has been my favorite race.
Also so far of the protoss/terran stuff I've seen I want to say Terran artillery type stuff is going to kick ass.

I am gonna keep this thread alive because i can't contain my excitement at the thought of another starcraft. Unfortunately, Blizzard is just tempting us with that darn website since the game isn't going to come out for some time

i havent looked at the website in ages im about to give it a ganders. but yeah i can wait to see some of the zerg units.

I thought they may have made a 4th race too an amalgamation of the zerg and prtoss. if any one ever played brood wars and got that bonus level you saw they were trying to combine the two races.

this game better rock my socks for all the time i have to wait for it. gta4 will probably be out b4 this bad boy

I am willing to buy a new PC just to be able to play SC2... that should speak enough having in mind the fact that a good PC here costs 2-3 monthly salaries...

I hope thats true, would be very interesting to see what types of units they are .

Must.....Keep.......post........alive. Starcraft 2 looks gooooooood. Too bad i can't play online with starcraft 1. Everytime i try to play on battle-net i get PWNED so bad that it makes the game not fun for a week. Still a great game.
