Just thought I'd post this to let the playerbase know how low certain members of the community are.

A few days ago someone pretending to be Signpost applied to join RebelRapeRepeat. Assuming this was *the* Signpost, I happily accepted him. Turns out it was not, he was a spy for members of the resistance. I accept that whilst spies are utter scum, it is part of the game and I know that I shouldn't have been so trusting.

However, the spy gave out our contact details to members of the resistance. Since then, members of my alliance have been pranked in the middle of the night by these herpes sucking ****bags. What these people are doing is illegal as it is classed as cyber stalking and harrassment. Thus, this matter will be brought to the attention of the police if it doesn't desist.

I cannot believe that this is the level that the resistance has to stoop to in order to try and win. It is absolutely disgusting behaviour and I feel ashamed to be a part of the same community as these players.

It is truly disgusting behaviour. Playing the game without any sense of morals is one thing, but to pursue your ingame enemies in their private lives is simply crossing the line. I find it hard to believe that anyone would stoop so low to beat you in a game.

All people responsible for this should be permanently banned.

Also, I have IRC logs which show the people involved and I'm happy to share them with Azzer if that is needed.

I look forward to hearing Signpost's side, or Rowan as I knew him from TIR and after I left/was removed. Didn't seem the sort for this sort of thing. As far as I'm aware he was looking for a halfway decent alliance to join after leaving TIR, and once a spot opened in ReRR he seemed quite happy to have found one. Now some of the members of the resistance, I have no problem believing that they'd stoop to such measures if contact information fell into their hands.

All of the above said, I fully support permanently banning from the game anybody found to have taken part in such harassment. It far crosses the line.

For the record, he wasn't a spy for the resistance. We got zero information from him - So I don't know if you're misinformed or blatantly lying to over exaggerate your point. Hell - We didn't even get the list of you guys from him (including your contact details, which most of your former ally mates had anyways). As for the resistance pranking you in the middle of the night I'd like to make sure EVERYBODY knows that it was said in the resistance channel AS A JOKE. It was *NEVER* intended to actually happen, nor was it purposefully. I know of ONE case where Lukey was pranked - That is because Lukey woke up the offener the night before. I think another drunk person may have pranked someone thinking we were being serious. If it's happening profusely I/we are unaware of this and we agree that it shouldn't be happening. Give the number of whoever is doing it to a resistance ally and they will be dealt with.

I think Azzer has to make a stand on this, the game should never invade someones life like that in fact id go right past Azzer and contact the police if he does nothing. My guess is a little visit from a friendly police officer and a warning would make these retards think a little bit more....

Agreed Melnibone. The last incident of it happening is less than 3 hrs ago.

If Azzer doesn't act the police certainly should be brought in.

Imo Azzer should ensure that he makes an extreme example of these idiots as to be in any way lenient to them will only encourage others to do it knowing that there will be no serious reprecussion for doing it.

A lot of phones have functionality to block calls from specific numbers, now, I'd advise victims to check if their phone has such a feature.

problem with that is as blockatiel suggested in one of the logs from Toby. Use withheld number. Very difficult to block the number if you don't know it in the first place.

My phone lets me reject calls from people who have withheld their number - its always worth checking to see whether you have anti-prank functionality on your phone - A lot of modern phones do.

DA i was getting pranked from home numbers within england at like 3 - 4 am my time while i was staying at my gf's she was going mad i had some many pranks i had to turn my phone hint me dying one night.

Proof is me texting martin saying who's number is this and none matched with the alliance tbh it is pretty low to do it specially as it caused a lot of friction between my gf an me seeing as she had work at 8 am the next day

Azzer should defo take actions against this. Mayb not in a permaban, but defo a tempo ban for lets say 1 year.

I'll be honest, this is really low.

It also really highlights how the need for contactability really damages real life :/

Any solutions to this really need to be addressed, if possible, with a change of the game mechanics I think! *Glances back over towards Polo's suggestions...*

Now I remember why I am playing solo this round and keep choosing to do so...

Definately way over the line. All people involved should at least have their IDs locked IMO.

I cant believe people would continuously prank people they dont even know just to try and stop them winning, actually affecting their real lives in this way (like Lukey mentioned). Im speechless...i am without speech...

Definately deserves action from Azzer if proof is available (in my opinion ofc)

I think the problem here is that contactability in pretty much any alliance is a must.

As such the *game* is requiring you submit your phone number.

I'm wondering whether a new EULA clause would make a difference, but again, how feasible is it to punish those "caught" doing this?

Personally I have two phones, my normal phone, and an old phone I use purely for Bush. Its the only way I can be sure this thing won't happened to me.

At the end of the day I think people have to be prepared for this to happen. If you give your phone number out anywhere you risk this happening. Someone grabbing your number and making your life hell with early-hour pranks is a risk you take doing that. I'm just not sure Azzer can do anything but very vocally dissuade here.

Also, if you have the Crazy Frog ringtone, perhaps change it, this may help ease the situation.

This is just beyond belief, that anyone would go to these lengths to get ahead in a ****ing game. Your accounts should all be destroyed. Every one of ReRR has a life outside Bushtarion, and to intentionally go out of your way to disrupt those because you're bitter about what happened in-game is just pathetic.

I do not want to play a game that allows this, and will be making that clear to Azzer in a private conversation. There will be consequences.
