Places to go;

Blackpool tower - Although you can't go right to the top as they're doing work on it, the second floor from the top offers enough.

Blackpool circus - Very funny!

Pleasure beach - Pretty good, although they do charge you 5 pounds entry fee now.
South, and central pier - South pier ftw, skycoaster ftw

Many bars along the sea front are pretty snazzy and decent, there are a few bars and clubs in the backstreets which are also decent.

If you want to eat cheaply, there are MANY cafe's around which are a damn sight cheaper than places on the front.

Where to stay? Well, when I went this weekend we stayed at the Westdean, clicky, Rooms are nice and cosey, breakfast between 8:30 and 9:15, they have their own bar and will keep it open if you ask them too, pricing is, 20 pounds pppn, 5 mins from the sea front and south pier.

I also think Blackpool Central might be able to put us up, the woman on the phone seemed a bit dim.

Can anyone check? If not, I'll see what I can do this weekend, but can't make promises.

I think the top one is our best bet. £10 each deposit, with remainder payable on arrival.

Let me know who's coming, and I can either group book us or I can have everyone call in themselves with card details.

Also, http://www.partyhotels.co.uk/nshotel.htm - ref MN17 - all en-suite, near Coral Island in the middle of the town centre, bar, karaoke available, £30 a night, although he might be able to discount to £25 depending on how many of us go.
