I've recently seen a few websites with satellite images of the Earth, showing which parts are dark and which are light at the particular time, http://www.die.net/earth/, for example.

Anyway, I find them pretty fascinating, and was wondering if anyone knew of a vista utility that would be able to make something like that my desktop background? I realize it would be more resource-intensive than a static background, but I've got some resources to spare as bushtarion doesn't require much.

Right-Click on the image.... go down to "Set as desktop background".... or something along those lines.

I think thats what you're asking for at least.

You are missing the point Nitrous. Set as Desktop Background saves a copy of the image to your hard drive and uses that as your background image. The image in question is actually updated regularly on the webserver, and the poster wants to have his background update too. I think you can do it with active desktop on the older versions of Windows, dont know about Vista though :?

There's an application for Vista which allows you to set a webpage as your background. But I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. You could try googling for it. :P
