Griping about Spec Ops

This is a gripe about the Special Operations route. All Spec Ops fans please leave immediately so that I don't have to read your flaming and trolling. Thank You.

Of all the people I hax0r, about 1/2 of them use the Spec Ops route. Not that anything is wrong with the Spec Ops, but it is overused and overrated.

Time and again I hax0r people and see the normal Gardeners, Harvesters, Hippies, Yobs, Wheelbarrowers, Geo-phys Thieves, and the telltale Cloners. It just pops up so often that it is getting on my nerves.

if you don't have a route that counters or does well vs. the SO route - I can definitely understand where this gripe is coming from.

i just don't get your overrated reaction is all.

they definitely are beatable. just the stealth makes it harder to gauge the toughness of your enemy.

the overused is also kinda funny because well... there is limited route selection (main routes being spec ops/military/protestor/etc not the actual branches after that)

SO being specifically designed for more defensive posture, route choice usually for the less active.

i have no problem with your gripe. I just think it's funny.

I don't think anyone other than new players think SO is overrated, not with vamps out now. Anyone with half a brain can see that Vamps absolutey rape SO therefore making them more or less null and void. An SO players can't really ever afford to gamble on vamps, if you lose, you are going to get zeroed, period. (more or less.)

Overused? No I'm going to have to disagree on that. Perhaps it is a slightly more popular route this round, but that makes it no different than bunkers last round and Tls earlier etc. Perhaps you've been hitting/hacking an unlucky bunch of players. (having said that, BB and TS are pure SO and that will lead to an illusion of large numbers of SO. That is almost *exactly* the same situation as last round with the bunkers...)

i know it's a gripe and having written a few gripes myself i'm well aware of the frustration involved, but frankly i think your reasoning for griping should not stray to topics like 'overused and overrated' that simply isn't true. Frustration and anger is one thing i can respect (to a certain degree) in the Gripes forum, but complaining about the route? No.

but this round ive also noticed alot of thug PB players as well...are people noticing that? or is it just around the kinda scores im attacking?...

Well, smart guy, not everyone uses vamps, in case you haven't noticed.

As some illiterate people are incapable of reading properly, I shall reiterate.

I am not griping about the SO route, I am griping about the fact that so many people use it. Get your facts right before talking rubbish next time.

Go play vamp then... I don't see what your point is rather than creating useless posts. SO is a a perfectly balanced route (it is even underpowered in my view) so what is the problem with many people playing it?

Yeah there is a hell of a lot of SO players this round. While some of it is obviously to do with BB/Tread, a large percentage of solos seem to be SO too. Shrug maybe it's just in the higher ranks...

I think its just that I killed all of the high ranked solo SO's before they got SA's, so they all are in your attacking range

because surely you can't be griping about people choosing to play a route of their own free choice? even when it's not THAT great of a route and you could use it to your advantage by going vamp :)

Maybe I'm just in the score range to hack alot of BB/TS, but it does seem that every other person I hack is SO.

I woudn't say SO is overrated though. Anyone who knows what they're doing knows there are a good half dozen routes which can give it a slapping.

yeah i thought that with petrols this round. Seems like more people have finally got round to realising how good they are.

SA get 3:1 and we have hundreds of millions!

BB and TS play purely for fun this round but if an other group did this same thing for real then you would see alot of gripes.

And Iamsmart - you didnt kill any of us at high ranks it was Hell ...
And you got SA same time as 5/6 people of us and then 24 hours later 20+ have it so ... :P

I like to add that I find it's to few SAs around... I've had to resort to killing Bunkers, Thugs and the occasional Protestor instead.... :(

While their are tons of juicy Robos just ripe for a proper RPG rape. *sigh*
