isnt GMT now meant to be UTC which stands for Cooridinated Universal Time.

Its not major but if we want to be totally correct.....

UTC replaced Greenwich Mean Time on 1 January 1972 as the basis for the main reference time scale or civil time in various regions.[1]

UTC replaced GMT 36 years ago but people still talk about GMT rather than UTC. I think we should stick with terminology people understand ;)

But its not just understand, but its also widely used. When i goto install games, windows or software that require time stamps, they all ask for the timzone in GMT. Maybe it was changed in the books, but never in practice.
