Top 5 games you've ever played

Mine are:

1. Fallout 1&2 (2 was better)
2. Oblivion
3. Half Life 1&2 +expansions
4. Medieval 2: Total War- one of the best strategy games out there
5. Final Fantasy 9 (please don't tell me how much better ff7 is)

Honorable Mention

Psychonauts-probably the most unappreciated games of all time. Great story, original ideas and gameplay, and it's really funny. If you see this game for sale..buy it.

Tough to put only 5 and to put them in order really...

1: Portal (PC... short lifespan but a more amazing, memorable and funny game experience I've not had in a while)
2: Age of Empires II: Age of Kings (PC... spent so many days making levels and playing against AI and players)
3: Oblivion (PC... so moddable, so open-ended, I loved it)
4: Discworld MUD (any platform - Amiga, PC, MAC - that can use a telnet client... my character age in this for my main was 70 days - that's 70 days of non-stop 'live play', and a bunch of toher chars totalling about 40 days... started playing it in the mid to late 90's)
5: UFO: Enemy Unknown (Amiga version... aka XCom to Americans, totally different release name over there. This is the 'best' XCom game there ever was)

Half Life 1 & 2 are just outside... I never had the opportunity to play the Fallouts but I've heard such good things about them I'm really looking forward to the new Fallout due out before too long.

1) Mines of Titan: good luck finding this, even shareware could not find it :(

2) UFO Enemy Unknown: if you played this, then you know why. no cash cheat you pansy!

3) Fallout: both one and two. one being the better.

4) Ultima Online: In the begining [first full year] when there were no rules reguarding pvp :) anyone, anytime, almost anywhere lol.
The best was killing someone, then taking everything he had on his lifeless body ahahahahaaahhhaa, the way a MMORG should be!!! live or lose everything with a swing of a sword

5) random: solaris, any civilization, duke nukem, wolfenstien 3d :)

1. half life (i will say 1 and 2... I would pick 1 over 2 just because it was ahead of it's time and was super awesome. opposing forces expansion... too buggy)

3. heroes of might and magic 3 was my first delving into this series... tres awesome.

4. xcom: terror from the deep (magnetic ion armour and disruptor pulse launchers ftw! lobster men ftl!)

5. kotor 2

on the bubble: splinter cell series, zelda:majora's mask (racing against time and all the little tasks i'd try to stack for maximum efficiency ftw), ff3 (never played beyond), zoo tycoon 2 cuz it is very relaxing, fusion frenzy (because it's something i can play with the kids)

- Final Fantasy VII - best game ever made IMO. I would put the other FF's as my other 4 but that would be biased :P
- Spyro the Dragon - what an incredible soundtrack... quite frankly!
- Civilisation 4 - brilliant strategic game... there's nothing better than destroying Isabella and Saladin with your friends online on a rainy afternoon! (MattM will know what I mean anyway)
- Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic - clever storyline, nice system, lovely grahics... just wish it would play on my laptop :mad:
- Bushtarion - for obvious reasons ;)

Can't think of a definite top 5 so I hadn't posted before, but getting a Wii has started some nostalgia for me about old games so thought I would. Seen as I'm taking the time out of my busy schedule of doing nothing think i'll explain a bit as well :P. So in no particular order:

Goldeneye - one of the greatest (if not the greatest) multiplayer games ever made (and by multiplayer im not meaning online, I'd rather play with a few mates in the same room than a load of randoms)

All Legend Of Zelda games (mainly played the N64 ones but every one i have played has been brilliant, including the Wii one which I am bloody loving at the moment)

Mario Kart Wii - Mario Kart games are awesome anyway and this version seems to be exactly as a Mario Kart game should be, immense fun to play and easy to pick up (surprising given the control method, even my Mum managed to win a few races :o ), and to add to that making up a truly great game it has great online features, good variety of courses/weapons/modes/vehicles and you can use GC controllers (I only add that because I'm cheap and it means I don't have to buy more wii remotes/wheels if we really want to give it 4 player :P)

GTA Games - Never really got into SA but all the others guaranteed me hours of entertainment, nothing like sex, violence and driving to get you into a game

Finally the Pro Evo games (the last 3 are the ones ive played most) are awesome just for the multiplayer, without question Pro Evo is the game ive played most with my mates, and I don't want to start this debate again (god knows we've all seen it enough on irc) but the gameplay is just brilliant and feels realistic setting it well above Fifa games IMO


EDIT: Just saw Steve_God mentioned Bad Fur Day, what a game. The story was awesome, so well written, genuinely funny and great characters all round, and as you say the multiplayer was great, so many different games to chose from. Loved some of the parodies in that game, especially the matrix bit and the saving private ryan bit lol

DarkSider plays computer just fine. Just because he has to constantly pedal on his bike to keep the generator humming while he logs on, doesn't mean Romania went without sim city.

Bulgaria on the other hand didn't get electricity until about 4 years after half-life came out.

Hey, I used to play Heroes of Might and Magic- but I like the 3rd version best:) I used to be unbeatable, but I went and just played it offline a bit ago and got killed at level 4:(
