Having not experienced it this round but having experienced it in the past I think there should be one change made to how HQ troops and solos interact.
Proposal: Make it so that HQ troops can only be attacked by allied players or opposing HQ troops.
Reasoning: To prevent alliances using allied solos and/or simply bored solo players to destroy enemy HQ troops. While this isn't always a problem for the upper alliances, it could benefit the lower alliances who may be wary of developing HQ troops in the future after spending a round having some solo come along and kill them as soon as they get them.
(I speak from experience there. In Discworld's early days is very distressing to log in and see that some solo guy bigger than half the alliance combined had come along and zapped or troops.)
Thoughts?

In response to this I will make a sugestion...dont waist money in HQ troops? in my opinion the only purpose in having HQ units its because they are cool haha, in my experience I hardly found them usefull, the top allys only buy them because they dont know what to do with the money or just because its nice having them:P and the small allys I dont even know why they waist money on them, they might help you in what? 1 or 2 battles? and if the attackers are small. So I would just suggest to noy buy any of them, not even develop them. the only use of HQ its the mail and the eta 5 view, the rest its meaningless. Maybe if azzer change them as DS have suggested might be different.

we developed all the hq techs this round in the hope that it would give us extra alliance points, i cant actually remember if it did, but if so this would be a benefit of developping them.

yeah, i remember in canes_pugnaces (or whatever it was called...lol) when at the end we were trying to beat legends for rank 1 (points, which we did!) BW was like, "everyone start donating, i dont know if its gonna give us any points...but meh"
again, i dont think anyone worked out whether it did

Yea when i led Geno, in the SOTB round, we got rank 1 points and i think we did get ally points for doing the whole tech tree.

It didn't.
What I'd suggest, is making it so the Alliance's average score counts as the HQ's score, so high players can't cruise into the HQ of an ally 8% of their score.

I like this idea (or something similar) as it would stop the high ranking solos from hitting HQs without penalty. Perhaps treat the score as the highest member in the alliance, so that it's more fair and possibly even defendable? (As if the highest member got attacking in the alliance, any attack more malicious than that would just be mean, let's be honest :P )

I've said this before but i think that the whole alliance troop system needs to be changed due to the uselessness of the troops and it could open up a whole new aspect of alliance play....see here.

and if some of the suggested changes here came into place then the problem of HQ troops vs Solos would basically be forgotten
