Being an owner of a Bushtarion Fansite i know how hard it is to get word out to the masses about your site... So, i feel that now with the numbers of fansites for bushtarion there are, it would be time to include some sort of official support for fansites...
Maybe the section in the portal could be improved to go beyond a small set of links, Possibly a forum/sub forum section too where owners and creators of fan sites/applications can post updates, without spamming the rest of the forums out.
Fan sites that are deemed to be worthy (I.E. are proven to actually work, that look the part and are regulary maintained) Could be given some sort of "Official" Status by Azzer, or even using a playerbase rated system...
I do feel that these sites are of genuine use to the playerbase, and making it easier for the newer players to access them, and making the access to those who don't use the forums can only be a good thing,

Bobwo already has a link on the main Bushtarion site :P
I'd just like to see more support for the fantastic range of tools there are now...
I.E. Powo... Antis Toolbar, and yes... Bobwo :P

what do you mean by support? do you want azzer to put links to your tools all over bushtarion? work on them himself, pay you? what are you after.
if you want to make people to use yours over another then make it better
antis toolbar is the bomb

I Agree Also.

Indeed, toolbars are good...
Which is why i would like to see better support for these tools within Bushtarion.
As you can see, the entire playerbase is not signed up for the forums, but, where is the only information about these tools?
The wider range of people that know about them the better, as it means the helpfulness of them will be availiable to everyone!
And no, i don't want Azzer to code it for me :P I like coding it myself! :P
I'd even offer to code a fansite section for him! Save on the work and all that... buuuut as I'd need DB access, i doubt he'd let me :P

Back in the day I redesigned the portal, purchase and PW pages to what they are today. Didn't need DB access as I just designed the pages and Azzer integrated the PHP code himself. If Azzer was to agree, I think you'd be fine just to design the layout of the pages etc.

Yeah basically Tim just made his own pages on his own server - a sort of non-functional "mock up" (so he just used his own HTML formatting/style and his own CSS coding styles etc.).. you could navigate through them but ofc it was all static pages with "fake data in" (not a real user).
I then just copied the style as closely as possible but re-coding it in my "own way" (we all have our own styles/structures/formatting of coding!), and did all the stuff necessary relating to database work/actual code behind the scenes etc.
Was very helpful, and like Tim says we still have the vast majority of his "like-for-like" designs throughout the majority of the portal pages (particularly purchase and world-book related sections which I think are designed great :D).
So if you do want to "mock something up" - for any part of the game (in-game, in-portal, front page, anything), feel free to just make a "static version" that is purely about design/layout and show me and I can see what I think and whether I can (or want to!) use it or not :D
