After being down for however long, the nobreakspace site is now back online!

The interface has had a complete overhaul and the graphs are now flash based and are thus more interactive and informative.

The extension may get an update at some point this round.

Cheers Matt. The graphs would generate a lot quicker if I wasn't using crappy shared hosting. :P It can take upto about 3 seconds currently but when I run it on my own computer it takes about 0.2 seconds.

I've completely redesigned the interface of the site. Hopefully it's easier to use and looks good. I'm still working on the ability to view more than one ID on the same graph at the same time.

I've also added a Donate via Paypal link as I'm a poor student who needs money to pay for hosting. :P Donations are not necessary to use the site but they are greatly appreciated and will help keep the site running for as long as possible.

Zombie, it's a tool for collating alliance ID lists without doing it manually. Simply spy an ID, paste the whole report into the spy parser, and it'll give you a list of all people who have defended or been defended by that ID.

Just an idea, as an addition to the graphs produced for separate IDs, is there a way to do it for alliance rankings? Obviously, cannot do anything for Total Acreage and Total Government Valuation unless the alliances were public, but just thinking about it, it would be nice to look back and see how your alliance did over the round as a whole.

All those excel ar calcs and tools around that are rubish. I only used Bushtools which had a major downside i coded it for myself while i was using opera and majority of the players using FF didn't got the most of it :P Gave some suggestions to Pololo and a good part of my tools got implemented in his extension, plus are much easyer to use since they are integrated in the browser. Hope a few more additions soon, but anyway this extension kicks ass :D
And yes he did pay me in kinky favours to make this post :D

It's 100% accurate. It did mess up last night because of Halloween (according to Azzer Halloween is partially on 31st Oct and partially on 1st Nov) but that's fixed now (Tools -> Addons -> Find Updates, if you haven't got the fix yet).

@antisback: i have one critisicm for your extension too: the spy stripper only takes the incoming defenders into account, but not the IDs that are being defended by the spied person. So sometimes i see several defending mobs going out but the spy parser doesnt recognize it and says "solo"
if you could make it so the parser recognizes incoming AND outgoing defending forces would be real sweet!

Well, I wasn't sure whether to put that information at the top or bottom of the spy. I've just uploaded a new version with it at the top (Tools -> Add-ons -> Find updates) and so far I do prefer it there. Good suggestion. :D

You are right, spies now take slightly longer to load. However, I tested it extensively on an average length spy report (about 10 pages worth of news) and the page generally took 4.5 seconds to load rather than 4 seconds without the extension. You have to remember that on very long spy reports, the page would take a long time to load anyway. Try spying someone with the extension installed a few times and then without it a few times and you should notice that it doesn't take much longer to load.

Polo, your tool extension would be even more awesome if it included the spy stripper, that's pretty much the only reason why I am using these tool bars in the first place.
And I also agree with the last point that Cervantes made, the whole - x ticks ago - thing makes my firefox take so long to load, in fact I think I just loaded a spy report for over a minute.
Though unlike Andy, I want to ask for a more complex solution. If possible could you make it so instead of just turning it off, make it so we can choose the ticks? What I mean is, when I look at a spy report I really only care about like the past 10 ticks. - to see who's defending and what eta. So if possible could it be changed so that we (the users) can select how many ticks ago we want to see? - So like, we can just turn it off, or just view stuff from 10 ticks ago or all the ticks ago.
Either way, the tool bars are quite amazing, and if you don't understand what I just said, pm me and I'll try and make it more cohesive.

Included the spy stripper? Maybe I misunderstood you but my extension does have a spy stripper...Although maybe you didn't see it as it was displayed at the bottom of the spy. But if you update the extension, it now shows at the top which should make things a lot easier. :)

Tbh, when I started running the extension I thought spies were taking far too long to load so I did some testing and realised it's actually not that much longer than it is without the extension. Some spy reports can take ages to load even without the extension if a lot has happened to that ID.

As I said above, I'll look into having an option to specify how many ticks the script checks.

The funds per hour is going into the value of the player.. Maybe change it to Per hr so that the "hour" doesn't run into the value :)

Yeah, it probably is your laptop. I'm assuming your work has a good internet connection which is why your load times are always under 1 second. my internet here at work is very fast (around 45MbBits up and down)
At home i have "only" a 1.5MBit connection but a more powerful computer. lets see what difference this makes....

apparently my laptop is crap and takes much longer to calculate the extra code that comes in with polo's and antisback's extensions. However, Polo's extension still needs much more calculation time than antisback's. On my desktop the loading times with no extension are higher compared to the laptop, simply because the internet provided for my laptop is much faster. But when antisback's extension is active, the loading time on my desktop increases just slightly (1.1 fold), whereas Polo's extension takes noticebly longer (2-fold), even though not as dramatic longer as seen on my laptop (8.5-fold).

To summarize:
As expected, fast internet connection reduces the loading times of the standard bush site (with no extension whatsoever), even though the difference is not that much.
Secondly, calculating power is limiting the loading times of the pages once the extensions are active, however, Polo's loading time takes much more calculating power than antisback. A faster computer can reduce the increased loading time (as seen in this examole from 8.5 fold to 2 fold), but is is still noticelby longer.

Polo, in your case your internet connection really sucks, because you see an increase from 3.5s to 4s. I think you dont see a 2-fold increase in loading times because your loading times are very high already even with no extension. By the time the page is loaded, the code is apparently almost done ;)

i hope that helps in any case, if not, well, at least i had fun testing it ;)

Agreed. :P But I will take a look at the code and see if I can speed it up. If not I'll add preferences so the user can choose what information is displayed.

I've optimized the code a bit. On my laptop it now takes around 3.5secs to parse a spy it previously took around 5.5secs. The spy takes around 2.6secs to load with the extension disabled so it now takes around a third of the time it did before. It still parses the entire spy.

It'd be good to know how it performs on other people's computers. If it still takes a long time to load for some people I will add in the option to only parse part of a spy report.

Oh and the current incoming table also shows tooltips for each ID now.

The extension now has options. You can choose how many ticks of a spy you wish to parse and also turn off parsing all together. To change your settings, click Tools then Add-ons then select the nobreakspace extension and, finally, click Options.
The spy parser now supports stealth mobs so they are included in the current incoming section and the allies list.
Projected value has been added to the overview. Mouse over your score to see it.

I told you before but just in case you forgot, i think you should include average weather in funds calculated for 1 day and average year weahter for projected value. For tick income and hour income the current weather or Tick income for sun / Tick income currently.

I'm trying to install it as it looks good but it doesn't seem to be compatible with Firefox 3 (FF2 is so unstable on my system so I can't use it). I get to the install screen as per any normal extension and then an error message is shown when I try to install it. Woo! Version 1 is finally here! :D
Spies now show an activity table which displays when during the day the ID sends out attack or defence or starts a research or construction. For the table to be displayed, you must parse at least 144 ticks. By default, the times displayed are GMT but you can change them to your local time in options.
There is now a plant all button on the maintenance page. This can be disabled in options.

-> Clicking Add-ons
-> Click on the nobreakspace add-on
-> Click options

Ticks to parse is set at 13 by default so the parser runs quickly. If you want full parsing, set it to 576 (it won't be much slower unless you have an old computer).

I'm using Windows XP..

But I just thought that it may be conflicting with another FF extension (seeing as I have a lot), so I disabled them all and it worked fine. So I went through them all to see which one was causing problems with it, and it turns out it one called "extEMM", which basically just adds a 'restart firefox' button and a 'close firefox and keep all tabs' button to the top toolbar (yes I'm very lazy.. and it did save me clicking on the firefox icon after the x if I wanted to restart it :P), and now I've just disabled that permanently and it's working fine.

I have no idea what would cause them to conflict with each other, I guess that's for somebody with more coding knowledge than me to say.. but it's working fine now, and I've valued this extension over a restart firefox button!

I noticed this yesterday as well when I sent out an attack and someone tried to piggy me. I eventually got him to recall, but because of the glitch/bug, I thought the dude was still there. So I thought I'll recall at the last second of attacking for 3 and pwn his ass. :lol:. But turns out he wasn't even there :mad:

It would also be impossible to code correctly and very difficult to code even to work well in the majority of circumstances without the player allowing the plugin to perform an arbitrary amount of spies on his behalf, which is well beyond what Azzer would accept I think. The fact that there are some circumstances where it is impossible to tell who has recalled make this even more of a nightmare. Plus even attempting to do it would make Polo "responsible" for people who killed themselves when they trusted the plug-in which made a mistake ;)

As shown is Polo's newest extension not only much faster than the older version, it is also slightlyfaster than Antisback's. However, I was using Polo's extension at default settings, meaning Spy reports are being parsed only for the last 13 ticks. But this is exactly the amount of time useful for most of the players, me included, i decided to leave it at this.

Overall, I have to agree with the people above me, your extnsion is pretty awesome. I like the fact that you can see all the incomings (hostile and friendly) in an alliance overview like manner. Very handy when doing big wars, I love it!

Polo, your harv calc is reporting the needed harvs at about 80% of what they should be.

I'd like to double-check these numbers on a sunny tick, but unless calcs have been off for years or Azzer didn't mention a change these they are:

If anyone knows these to be off, please PM me because I haven't double-checked to make sure my calc is right. Like I said, these are the numbers used in calcs for ages but I haven't verified the sunny harv requirement to be 100% certain.

EDIT: It looks like some of those numbers were indeed wrong, although my calc returns the same as old ones. So, maybe people had the wrong numbers. Your calc actually appears to be about right, but I haven't worked out the corrections yet in mine. I'll PM or update the numbers I get for sharesies

Version 1.1:

The extension now works with the latest Firefox 3 beta (3.0b5). However, due to new security in FF3, it's not quite as easy to install the update. Do to so, you must enter "about:config" (without the quotes) into the address bar and hit enter. Then click the button saying "I'll be careful, I promise!". Next, right click anywhere in the list on the page and select "New -> Boolean". For the preference name, enter "extensions.checkUpdateSecurity" (again, without the quotes) and then click OK. A box will then appear asking you the value of the boolean, select "false" and click OK. You will then be able to install the update. Also note that automatic updates don't work correctly in FF3 so whenever I announce a new update, you will need to manually go to http://nobreakspace.com/extension.php and install the extension again (I'll fix autoupdates in a later version).

Flyovers now show projected value (mouse over the target's income to see it).

The format you wish to see allies displayed on a spy report can now be changed in the extension's options.

Also, two small changes from a previous update that wasn't noted: there's now a donation link added to in game pages, and the maximum length of the sell to value is now 10 characters rather than 4.

Hey Polo your addon is super helpful and i love using it. There is only one thing i would change, or make optional. This is a noobie mistake, but it still sucks when i accidentally hit 'plant all' instead of just plant when the weather is smeg. I just lost a few hundred billion in seeds. I am shamed to say i was clumsy enough to make the same mistake twice. I know lots of people like the 'plant all', but just to let you know, i could do without it :shock:

You need to change the number of ticks to parse in the options to >144 to see a player's activity.

I found that if you try scrolling down before its loaded fully this problem sometimes occurs, could it be the same thing is happening with you? Next time click the send button and don't move the mouse around, if it still happens then it must be a more serious bug. What I have experienced is probably a small bug, but I can live with it :D

I'd love to see outgoing mobs in spy reports. Would instantly tell me if a target is online or not (I know, I'm lazy) as well as helping speed things up during alliance attacks, would this be possible? Btw this is an amazing plugin and you should be very proud of your work :)

Surely if they are online and have outgoing mobs, you would be able to see them in the first screen *almost always* of the spy report. I agree with the whole laziness thing (hooray for lazy!) but outgoing mobs are usually the top of the spy report. So a parsing is usually unneeded.

Not to mention it might get confusing with the list on incoming as well. And if you had both, i wonder how many mistaken recalls would happen because someone read the spy report wrong. ;)

As for alliance attacks, that's why you have an MO to post outgoings :P

I meant in terms of whether your target is sending defence and to who. I personally would like it included, just as its an extra bit of info that could be helpful. I realise that just like the current 'incoming mobs' list you wouldn't be able to rely on it, as recalls can't be differentiated between friendly or hostile mobs by Polos Plugin. But my main reason is so that I only have to glance at a Spy report to know that a target is online or not (I know this isn't cast iron proof that someone is online, but it's a very good indication).

hey polo i have a small problem!

the ext has stopped working only on the overview page. it works everywhere else. i dont know what the problem might be and afaik its only me experiencing the problem

i have no other add-ons, but recently changed Broadband and thats when it stopped working. i shouldnt think that, that would have effected it though (just thought i would add what i changed to see if it would help)

This update provides players who have donated with a couple of extra features. Hax0rs are parsed and display visible staff total and total cost, max funds or max stealth troop cost and the maximum AR limit. The search page also shows total and average value, acres and "real" value for the IDs found.
Anyone who has donated £5 or more should contact me via the forums or msn for a serial key to unlock the donator-only features.
I also have a list of extra features to include in the donator-only version at some point in the future.

Yeah saw Terrakans problem, but no its through my router and nothing has changed in the past week or so. I did install a couple of other extensions but they are relating to Facebook not Bush. Maybe I should try removing them and re-installing nobreakspace again.

i can't find this being suggested before, so I'm just going to. a suggestion made from my mobile phone: a Mini Opera extension for mobile phones! i'd happily pay a few pounds to get the extension on my phone aswell.

Polo, I picked the number zero because it sticks out. The number may not be zero, depending on the crop layout they may have planted Grass 6 ticks ago, Bush 120 ticks ago. It may not be apparent if the target has a lot of grass acres because the numbers will look huge. Obviously most people don't grow crops like this but some people decide not to grow because they want their score to stay low :D

Or, maybe a target was short on Gards and only grew Tree seeds. Someone with 1 Tree acre that planted 120 ticks ago will have the same seeds as someone with 120 Tree acres that planted 1 tick ago. So in this example the target grew Tree 1 tick ago, Bush 120 ticks ago. Unless the player reads the acre counts they could assume the player indeed hasn't been on for 120 ticks :D

I have a suggestion to make about the graphs. I think they're awesome and you've done a terrific job, but I was wondering if it was possible to have some sort of zoom tool on it? I often find that I'd like to see, for example, the changes in valuation rank more closely over a smaller range, but because of a particularly low ranked effectiveness score, or bad round start, this is difficult to ascertain.

Perhaps the user could enter the range over which they want to see the data? This would probably be easier to implement than a click and drag magnifying glass tool, but I'm guessing :)

If you don't think it's necessary then fair enough, but I think it would make the graphs even better and more rewarding than they already are :D
