To give you some more insight from my point of view as being in one of the alliances;

Omgpop still remains on top, both succesfully and unsuccesfully launching attacks at C.U.N.T. and Tropic Thunder.

C.U.N.T, Tropic Thunder, THC, TRC and Growthspurt have been going at eachother for quite some time now. As rankings will show what the outcome has been, it's actually quite exciting and challenging to be in either one of the alliances and with that said, I do think the game is far from over.

Omgpop remains king, hands down, but the real action is happening right underneath them.

Cid and Quicksilver, the 2 biggest players, and Insom left for AR Mod. AR Mod then were about 20/30b behind us in score and if I recall correctly had more land. I was eta 6 home when they launched. CK and Zhouj were eta 3 or 4 home even though they didn't have much anyways. Amanala (rank 3 at the time) was offline. The people that left changed the numbers so we couldn't contact offline people (like yourself). The only reason we could get Block online was because Zhouj had old omgpop numbers saved. The Canasians were UC anyways. Noone else had a decent amount of troops. Block came online saw the mass incoming on a couple of key offline IDs and knew that was it. Tbf so did I. I had/have an assignment due for 12pm Friday so there was no way in ****ing hell I was staying online for the next 24/48hrs defending or doing anything in general so I didn't object to disbanding. Noone else did. There were maybe 5 online or so.

tl;dr version: There was nothing we could do./Noone could be arsed./What Iambutthurt said.

I believe the real golden rule is "everyone is self-interested" and not the naive one. As for my take on shipjumping/splits/etc., anarchy and chaos are rarely beneficial to anyone in the long-run. As I said before, just a game (and certainly one that's anachronistic) though so who cares in the end? Most of the people who didn't join AR Mod have other things to ponder.

There are a few variations on the rule it's true, the one I was referring to was "do unto others as you wish done unto yourself." Obviously you have a different, far more self serving definition, which I wouldn't consider the "Golden Rule." Anyways, hardly relevant, but I was meaning my definition, not yours.

As for your take on shipjumping etc, I don't really know what happened this round amongst the top allies save for what i hear in IRC or on forums (and god knows that's always biased beyond belief) so my comments are of a more general nature. As for chaos/anarchy, you're correct in general, it's rarely beneficial to anyone for a long period of time. However, I'd think that having a fluid situation relating to rank 1 in this game would be something to be desired so it's more fun for all. After all, we've been trying to get that sort of thing to happen for several rounds now so that the game doesn't always go the same way with one alliance smashing ahead to a stupidly large lead, then sitting on acres til round end. Then again, that's only my opinion, and i'm sure there are a multitude of differing views on the subject.

I have no problem with members who wanted to shipjump when we were at 12 players. Caranthir and I were basically the only two people who defended for 4-5 days, whenever we finally started making some progress on recruiting a couple people I woke up to three people leaving. We were in a very bad position, even I was ready for the whole thing to fall apart. But we managed to pull through, and I'm happy we did.

Don't really appreciate IoF's comment; Because me, DA and Hero were the three people putting the top effort in keeping people together. If we actually had kick rights, we could of sorted both Finale and CaUsNiTa out in the end.
Bruce, again, wasn't really in a position to take a leadership spot; Much like Firewall a couple of rounds back, and it resulted in similar circumstances - Two people trying to keep people together, while the leader is out doing something for days on end with no appearance. I have no major issues with Bruce, but maybe moving leadership would of helped sort things out.

Okay, so big dumb choice on my part, but I never had the intention of totally abandoning people, it was planned the day it happened, and before I went out to my RL arrangements, I was assured there would be time given to members and notice of what would happen, two/three hours is not notice.
I've always been a loyal and active member of any alliance I've joined - I've stayed in alliances that have sunk to depths of failure far beyond that of Finale {We weren't even failing IMO}, such as Firewall {Ironically, another alliance of Bruce's}, and National Guard, and many others - I feel it's unfair to judge purely on one round, and one action.
This round has been an utter shambles IMO - And I doubt the idea for alliance drafting won't come to pass due to selfish decisions IMO either. Maybe I'm being over-negative, but this game has done nothing but shock me in the last year or so.

I knew 3 of the ten in real life; And they knew as little as I did about what was happening; How can you have an opinion on something you know very little about?
I liked last round because I had an alliance that didn't disband, didn't *****, and never complained. Because we had fun; Though Toby didn't end up having much fun as night cover the last few weeks of the round.
I joined Resilience because OP didn't want to take me - And Block said it was cool for me to hop in their empty space. OP were my first choice, and I was declined. So it wasn't about joining the largest, it was about choosing one I felt most comfortable with. Insomn ended up joining Resilience too, so I had a mutual friend within the alliance itself.
Why would I want anything but rank one, anyway, if it was about a free rank? I'd never of got there, Cid is way too on the ball this round to even attempt catching up to him. So long as I get a portal, generally I'm not bothered - I've done it in a rank 21 alliance before, so why is my 'shipjumping' classed as selfish? I'm not lying; I was genuinely foolish enough to believe that the merge was temporary, and it was just a member swap.
I'm the only person with the stomach to admit what I did was wrong to the community; So berating me as a liar and selfish is hardly something I feel to be appropriate.

Alot of people don't use CG, so my saying they even rape something that Apaches only get 1:0.9 on, or 1:0.997 for PoMs is meant to highlight how strong they are.

WK were out before either unit, as I remember? We all know there ARE units that beat CG, it's more a case of there being one at around the time people can actually have them in threatening numbers. It's a cheap tech, a fast tech, and it can make all the difference to where you turn out in two weeks if you are on the ball. The nature of the beast though, I guess. I don't think there's TOO much of an issue with WK as they are, maybe lower the attack stat a little.

My post was basically highlighting the fact that you shouldnt be moaning about how such an awesome unit such as CG has SOME slight hinderance against WK.

It's a fair point and saying it isnt relevant is just stupid.

But now that i've explained everything for you again, i hope you can see you just mis understood what was being said. ;)

Alot of people don't use CG, so my saying they even rape something that Apaches only get 1:0.9 on, or 1:0.997 for PoMs is meant to highlight how strong they are.
And like I said, it wasn't a complaint; There should be a unit that can handle CG early into the round, and WK are that counter IMO - You just have to play fair to get that ability, s'all. :)

You aren't reading again. Classic fail on your part; It was about White Knights and their effect on people's attacking since H/F being reintroduced, which you may find totally relevant to the subject of what's been happening this round.
Who am I to tell you to stay on topic? Well, if somebody can't ask for something to be kept logical and on-topic that is of authority, why am I wrong to point it out? It's the idea of a forum discussion; to discuss, not to act like a child. I'd happily reinforce such a point to your face, but alas, the downside of the internet is people can elude common sense on what a real discussion is from behind a monitor, it appears.

What this actually is means is that the second somebody you don't like posts something, you can say "uh, that wasn't what I meant", while conveniently ignoring the transgressions of anyone you actually do like.

I don't think Cheese doesn't like "them", I think Cheese's post was an ironic one highlighting the hypocrisy of some people telling others off for posting off-topic to the original topic but on-topic in terms to a post within the topic, when they themselves do it several times but overlook it. Particularly when the power distribution of ordinary members on the forum is equal therefore telling someone they cannot post something which is officially not breaking any rules when there are forum moderators to police this sort of behaviour (and they have not done anything to prevent it at that point) is just self-righteous and exhibiting a ridiculous level of unnecessarily and undeservedly "taking the moral highground".

P.S. You should be lucky that "somebody" doesn't tell you off for your post seeing as it has nothing to do with the original topic.

P.P.S. In response to the original topic so that I don't get told off: to me it looks like AR Mod has pulled away from all the other alliances! And I'm not sure if the alliances rank 2-6 have enough closeness, activity, or value to be able to resist. That's "what's going on so far" from my perspective :O

But they aren't; Which is why I'm still posting. It just appears Ahead, you, and Cheese disagree with me - That isn't everyone.
This is just another thread to lock for being full of crap. I made a relevant point, only for people to flame me, and others that supported my point.
