it's one thing to lock as the thread loses relevance etc, deleting of individual posts. entire threads?

yeah issues with individual ops should be behind closed doors and whatever, but honestly and with azzer gone on vacation... what is any other op going to do about it? lift the bans? ok so what?

I know ops and players alike are having increasing problems with a certain op. (all news gets to me eventually. i'm awesome like that) alot of people never say anything because no one feels anything is going to happen. sometimes a public post is needed to encourage others to come forward.

perhaps you should have locked the thread and edited it for others to have the knowledge of how to lodge their complaints.

this continual deletion and cover up crap sucks. are you all catholics, or did you just take a page from their books when dealing with abuse situations?

As much as I hate to agree with Garrett, but the op in question has been a bit out of control since Azzer left anyway.

As far as I can see, the post wasn't deleted because of the few spam posts on it, it was deleted because it was a power-abuse complaint about an individual member of the Bushtarion IRC op team.

Whilst feedback, both postitive and negative, of Bushtarion staff is welcome, and we don't delete general discussions about rules/staff conduct, complaints about individual ops/mods/helpers should only be voiced in private, both with the op in question and with Azzer. I appreciate that it's frustrating knowing that complaints won't be heard by Azzer until he returns, but the rules will be enforced as ever, send all logs to him, and I'm sure he'll consider all complaints when he is back.

i understand the deletion of f0xx's post mostly as it was just thrown in as spam, but still kinda took it as a supportive statement.

toby's post was in support of the general idea and since i used a certain op as a reference as a thread that was deleted, he commented on that. *sigh*

deletion is outta hand, imo as I understand why you edited my original post and i'm fine with the changes, but now I have no chance to look at toby's post a 2nd time to see if the entire post justified it's removal.

not that I don't think you feel you were justified in removing toby's post, but now that I can only vaguely remember... how can I complain with proof since I didn't get a screen shot?

to be fair f0xx, toby initially agreed with me then went on about his individual points, but the whole post got removed. so it's just not you.

I think if you will look back since this forum started, it's written into the by-laws that no one is allowed to agree with me other than HG. If I'm right and people agree then the world has to end ;)

to mods/ops in general - as darryl has pointed out i can't name names so I have to be broad and sweeping in my statements. so no i'm sure it's not 100% that goes overboard, but still in some ways because it's the same names coming up over and over, why are there so many silent partners? it's almost like a couple are doing the right things, then you have the extreme over activity and extreme under participation.

locking is one thing, deleting the last couple of inflammatory babble is another, but deleting every last hint of everything is above and beyond the realm of reason. if a newbie or veteran is going to show their ass, some evidence should remain. hell i used to from time to time on the old forums look at past posts and say 'wtf was i thinking'.
