I know the clan system for Modern Warfare 1 was ordinary, it was just change you clan tag and that was it :/ For resistance 2 you could see all you clan members and see if they were online or not (without having to be 'friends') and organise matches and stuff. I think there were even stats and stuff...not sure on that last one.

Well half the beauty of PC gaming is the ability for customization. I love seeking out the new mods and fun addons that creative people come up with. Stupid move on Infinity Wards part imo.

The problem is that they chose to take it out. From a competetive gaming standpoint, he almost ruins the game for us. Not being able to connect directly to servers, losing the ability to change weapon values (or even remove thm completely) and having to play with the ridiculous helis/bombing runs will hurt the competetive community.

That being said, that side of cod4 was maybe 10% of the entire community at its peak, so IW wont be taking a huge hit by doing this. However, some of the best times I had in cod4 were zombie games and rpg matches :(

That may end up being the final result. When CoD:WaW came out, everyone from the competetive community wanted to play it. However, the lack of a demo feature ruined its chances at ever being a competetive game. This same trend may follow in MW2, where much of the community doesn't purchase the game due to a developers poor decision.

On the other side, many of the leagues (and PunkBuster) don't like to support old games when new ones come out (CS is the exception). So a lack of league support, plus an ever-increasing number of cheaters/hackers may hurt CoD4's chances

Well at this rate, CEVO and all the other leagues are probably going to have to stick with COD4. I don't see MW2 becoming the next league standard, with the changes that have been announced.

Yeah, no dedicated servers is a bit annoying, but i got used to it. Although it can be irritating getting paired with overseas hosts; bloody lag :P

Wow, i just found out that MW2 could be banned in Australia. Thanks to dipshit* politicians we are the only developed country without an R18+ rating for games. And so any games that dont make the MA15+ cut, get banned.

My source is 10 days old so i dont know what the progress is, but if it is banned that will suck big time. Even if i imported it, i couldnt really play it online, as nearly all my games will be hosted overseas and i would get lag, all the bloody time :(

OK, it probably wont be banned, but seriously, why the F doesnt our country have an R18+ rating for games? Well, they reckon its to stop children getting the game. Because thats right, dipshit parents buy these MA15+ games for their 10 year old children. Yep, i know little kids that play GTA, they think its great. Ha, it does make me feel even better reading this thread on a monday morning....

Got my copy through the door on saturday morning, have just been playing the campaign so far (would have it done already but surprise surprise the weekend I get it there's about 20 people staying in my flat giving me no time to play it).

Seems awesome so far, just usual intense vibes and the new stuff they've done with the perks and kill/death streaks I am enjoying, changed things up a bit and makes it interesting. Also the change to Local Multiplayer is very welcome from my point of view (you now earn XP and unlock custom classes/guns/perks/streaks as you do online)

Also loving the Spec Ops co-op missions (some of them are just great fun, covering each other with the AC-130 or Vulcan Minigun or the snowmobile races), hated that the last MW didn't have any co-op levels. All in all I have not been disapointed and I've been waiting for this to come out for ages now (as it seems everyone has!)


EDIT: Well up for playing online, my xbox live gamertag is Manch86 (think quite a few of you have me already). Well up for some games with some of you, altho will be sticking to my glorious STAM tag from WaW, Team STAM ftw

I am well aware it comes out tomorrow Mattheus, I've been counting down the days! lol. The website I ordered from worked out an arrangement with Royal Mail because of the strike so that even with standard delivery their customers were guaranteed to get it by release day. So Royal Mail picked up the deliveries on weds/thurs/friday last week....then of course the strike was called off and hey presto loads of their customers get it early.

Don't think there's any problems with going online, saw someone on my friends list playing online last night and I was reading about it last week coz I was desperate to find out if I would get it early. Apparently they've already had people downloading copies for the PC and cracking them and that and playing online. As far as I could tell they weren't going to ban anyone and they'll just do a reset of online leaderboards/xp on release day. Haven't played it online anyway coz I've just been doing the story but yeah, got it on saturday morning :D




EDIT: Aye the perks are now a bit mental, Nuke is crazy but you have to get a 25 kill streak to get it, if you're getting that you deserve to win to be honest :P

And you can only pick 3 killstreaks at any one time, you don't get all of them (they've also got to be unlocked like the guns/attachments/perks), but the supply drop one contains either ammo or a random killstreak reward, I've only played locally so not sure if you can get Nuke in that. Will remain to be seen how balanced it is once it's out properly and everyones playing online, so far tho I am enjoying the changes. There's also about 10 different attachments for each gun which rocks (and a perk so you can pick 2 attachments)

You can't play the campaign in co-op mode BUT there is a Special Ops section which is just various missions (most taken from the campaign) with varying objectives (wave defence, total body count, defusing bombs, escaping etc) and you can play co-op on that.....and its awesome :P 25 missions in total, you unlock them 5 at a time with stars you pick up for completing the levels at the different difficulty settings. Couple of highlights are the snowmobile races, defending the other player using an AC-130 gunship/Chopper with Vulcan Minigun (with exploding ammo)

I started playing the single player (with the intention of finishing it before starting multiplayer) but have just had a dabble in multiplayer and OH MY GOD...its so much more intense and i love it!

OK, first impressions after a day of lots and lots of gaming: (multiplayer only, that's the only part I'm bothered about)

So far seems fun! I love how much more customisable your character and classes are...eg, multiple gun attachments, choosing your kill streak rewards etc. Thumbs up on that one.

Guns seem fun so far, the SCAR-H is my early favourite, very powerful assault rifle with pretty low recoil. Usually using it with the heartbeat sensor and silencer. My opinions of all the weapons will no doubt change a lot as time goes by as I get to know them more and unlock the rest.

My main concern at the moment are the kill streak awards. I think they may have gone a little overboard on them...
For a start, because theres like 20 different rewards people can use, it's a lot less common for people having to wait to use them (i.e, not being able to use a chopper as there's already one out) This means that at any one time there can be harriers, choppers, sentry guns, stealth bombers, airstrikes etc all causing havoc around the map at the same time...can get a little crazy. PLUS you can get rewards airdropped to you as well. It's actually rather common for me to have 2-3 things queued up. (Unlike cod4 newer awards don't replace older ones, they just queue them up, like airstrike and chopper)
Secondly some of them seem too powerful, the standard chopper seems insane, think the chopper from cod4 on steroids, they just get a ridiculous amount of kills.

Anyway it's early days yet, as time goes on people will discover more about the guns, perks etc.

Edit - One thing I forgot to add. There's this deathstreak perk where if you die 3 or 4 times in a row without killing anyone you respawn with extra health. I HATE THIS. A little added health maybe, but it's like juggernaught * 3. There's nothing more frustrating then dying to a n00b with 892692367263982 health when you're one away from a chopper.

I like the amount thats going on, but i think what you've said there is right. I wouldnt go so far as to say its a negative right now (in my mind) but it might become frustrating once i play more

Played it for a good few hours this evening...

My verdict:
It's CoD4... with better maps (more technical)... better extras for weapons and perks (and LOADS of them!)... better multiplayer gaming (even if the host loses connection, it restarts the game from the same point once a new host has been found, instead of cancelling the game altogether like it did in CoD4).

Basically every game I ever buy I leave the campaign completely and skip to the online play, as I'm a big online fanatic. I've always found the modern warfare campaigns very compelling, though, and have to get into them before I hit online :P

Why would you buy the game and not play the campaign? Admittedly online is the best thing about Call of Duty but still you've got plenty of time to play it after you've finished the campaign (it doesn't take long, I got it done in 6 hours and I was knackered and making an arse of it for half of that time, managed to fall off during the ice climbing at least 10 times :P) and the campaign is awesome, it's really well done, pretty much like a film that you're in control of

That being said now I've finished the campaign it'll no doubt be online all the way for me! :P

I hadn't even bothered unlocking it til earlier, and i'm level 51 or something. Just seemed like a gimmick, way to show off your epenis.
May give it a whirl tho, it's definitely doable, went 30-0 in a free for all the other day. Hell your kill streaks can do half the work for you. sentry gun on 5, harrier on 7, then once you get to 11 the real rape begins. Helicopter gunner is better then Ac130 imo. I often get like 10 kills with it. The only sizable advantage AC130 has over heli gunner is the fact that it's harder to shoot down, as it has counter-measures against missiles fired from the ground.

Oh, and as for the campaign, I did start it earlier...but will probs be a fair while before I bother finishing it. I guess I'm in the minority here but I don't find the single player campaigns from the cod games that amazing. Just fairly formulaic. The cinematics and visuals are good, but the actual gameplay is boring.

OK so contrary to my last post I actually finished the campaign. Was just a lot shorter then I expected. (Seriously, this felt a lot shorter then the WaW or cod4 campaign)
Anyway, sorry to say but I thought it was a bit crap. The storyline was utterly horrible. It just got a little ridiculous. Normally I'm not too fussed but the horrible writing really annoyed me this time. The gameplay was as samey as ever. The visuals though, as ever were stunning. The parts in Washington D.C were pretty amazing graphically.

Anyway for me it's all about the multiplayer, if it didn't have that I'd rate the game pretty low tbh. Thank god the multiplayer rocks!

I have to agree with Mattheus that the single player campaign didn't meet my expectations. It was fairly short and the plot was as unclear as the last game.

I also hated the enemy AI. Whilst most games enemy NPCs are very stupid and generally crap, MW-2s enemy NPCs are ridiculously switched on. There is no chance of a stealth approach to this game as enemies seem to have an eerie awareness of where you are despite you not actually being seen. I found this particularly dissapointing as the game seems to hint at requiring an element of stealth (camo, silenced weapons, etc) but ultimately you can't get anywhere without blowing your cover - something that is all too easily done.

I just finished it and OH MY GOD! Absolutely amazing IMO. I thought it was longer than the CoD4 campaign...but that might just be me. Already cant wait to play through a couple of the levels on veteran...anyway...on with multiplayer!!!

I'm a hardcore metal gear solid fan - perhaps thats impacting on my opinion re: modern warfare 2 - But even in the very first MGS (11 years ago) the AI was capable of providing a good stealth experience in that if you are not seen, you don't alert the enemy. In MW-2, you don't need to be seen to be noticed and I found that I pretty big let down.

Still a very enthralling gaming experience, though, just felt that this was a bit of a silly flaw.

Also, come to think of it, a lot of the maps for the campaign were very linear - I hate being constrained to one path, fields/woods you can't access cept' for a path that takes you through each set-piece. There were a few bigger environments though so I guess I can't complain :P

But does anyone know if you can take down helicopters by sniping the pilot? In MW1 i would always try taking out the choppers (I swear you should get xp for taking down choppers, the number of times i did, grrr). I tried numerous times in MW1 to snipe the pilots but to no avail.

So if anyone has any info on that, that would be cool.

Oh, any heat seeking rockets? For aided assistance against helicopters/gunships?

That's the thing, any harriers/choppers etc left to do their thing will get a preposterous amount of kills (a lot more then cod4), but they don't have much health. 1 stinger missile shoots anything down in 1 shot. (except Ac130 and it's counter flares -_-)
It's why all my classes now have stinger as my secondary, just shoot them down straight away rather then let your team get raped.

Oh and yeah, you get exp for shooting stuff down. You can even shoot down UAV planes now :D which I sometimes do for the lulz

I never played MGS, but heard absolutely amazing things.

I think my closest comparison for 'stealth' tactics, was the Splinter Cell set of games. Which were just *awesome* as far as i was concerned.

I find that in the MW2 campaign, there were a lot of missions where you were funneled into battlefields (for lack of a better word) where you were surrounded by thousands of enemies, and it was a spin+fire+spin+fire duck and weave and fire kind of mission. Very few sneaking missions comparatively.

Either way i loved it :D

I've never noticed an actual UAV before!

In response to the being easier to kill and be killed I've noticed it too, it's why I felt in CoD4 the non-Hardcore modes were pretty crap but now the medium between the two appears sorted. I like the easier to die/easier to kill. :D

I also think the throwing knife is hilarious to use.

Martin hit it spot on. They've made it more "noob-friendly", making it easier to kill people and thus get kill streaks, but in turn made it easier to die as well. I feel like it's ridiculously easier than COD4, but a good game nonetheless. The FAMAS will always be my weapon of choice :P

I always thought that, but every time I get to prestige I think why not? Otherwise whats the point in carrying on playing, surely you're just gonna get bored of using the same weapons all the time and you've got no challenge left (other than the weapon challenges etc but if you're using the same guns you wouldn't be going for them either).
It's also a nice change going back to basics, means you get to retest your skills without all the perks that you got you up to a higher level, and also if you stay on level 70 you would (if my understanding or matchmaking is correct) end up playing players who are less experienced/skilled than if you were to level up through prestige. It was a while, but still, the time and effort it to get those golden weapons, was AGES. And then i blew it away when i decided to prestige. Therefore when i get MW2, i will either never prestige, or wont try for any unlockables until ive finished prestige (i seriously doubt this will happen lol)

Maybe but if you see it from my point of view where i played COD4 in a Clan, we had Matches you could enter the server name and password protect it so that it would just be you and your opponents playing, i haven't purchased the pc version but from what i have gathered its 99.99999% impossible to repeat the above now that there are no dedicated servers, Sad? No it's not going to be a 'friends only' match unless you get enough of your friends to fill an entire match-full. But neither has it done away with the ability to play with your friends. I'm more peeved at the fact that they took out all the customisation that made MLG possible. It's not that we think the game is bad without it, or that we're bawwwwing over not being able to cheat, it's that we're not allowed to have fun with all the settings that are still blatantly modifiable. I don't know how many other FPSes for PC you've played, but look at any one with dedicated servers and you'll realise how many non-ranked servers aren't team v. team. I know that Battlefield 2 had a plethora of "fun" servers, from hide and seek to capture the "flag", etc. :P

Hehe Well I see your point, but from a competitive view the game is a no go area anymore, Yes If i had it on PC i would play it for enjoyment aswell as Competition. Also now that there are no admins its very easy to cheat and get away with it also you can easily modify your rank to the highest one (as someone at college demonstrated to me) and the inability to kick hackers makes the game less and less attractive And the fact that the host will always have a 0 ping compared to the other players gives them the advantage over everyone everytime.

Now i may be looking at this from a Negative aspect, but Meh i expect the Pc version of a Multiplatform game to be more advanced compared against the Console version, Matchmaking is a step back IMO but each to there own :)

I have to say that having given the online a real chance to shine, it hasn't, much.

I've been hammering team deathmatch and what strikes you as being one of the bigger flaws is the distinct lack of maps. There *appears* to be an "ok" number of maps for online play, but the variety between them is almost none-existant. I find myself leaving lobbys time and time again because the map is the same one I played last game (More often than not Skidrow, Estate, Afghan or Highrise)

Not only that, but I'm just not "getting" many of these maps. A lot of them are very built up, apartment block type maps that indulge the sneaky camper who can simply sit in a window and kill passers by.

Graphics wise, the game is pretty much exactly the same as COD4. Which is another dissapointment, imo.

As for issues that aren't the developers fault, the skill level of the average gamer is now much higher than in times gone by. The reason I no longer play Counter Strike is that you very simply can't play on a server without being owned by guys who play it hardcore. I'm not a particularly bad/good player, my accuracy is rank #2 on my friends list at the moment, but I find myself struggling massively to play even decently in many games.

My fear is that COD is turning into an exclusively hardcore game, where casual to semi-serious gamers can't venture for fear of being owned within 12 seconds of spawning.

That said, that issue possibly is partially Infinity Ward's fault - I'm level 24/25 at the moment, yet I'm being matched with 50+. This has always confused me given there are at least a million people playing COD at any one time - Is it that difficult to make sure I'm not going to be matched against someone with an average +30 kill/death spread? I imagine the game makes those matchmaking decisions based on having a level 50 on either side, to make it fairer, but that doesn't stop the reason of the team being owned by someone twice their level.

My experiences and views are fairly similar. I am yet to complete the campaign mode but have started it though.
Online I have notched up about 10-12 hours I believe and am level 25-27 ish. I find the same as DA, yet unlike him, I am bored by it... You can only use the same levels which appear over and over and you play people who are immense at the game. I have had most of my online time during the day and I do ok, above average. However if I happen to play the game in the evenings I just get utterly destroyed, bottom of the pile in 9/10 games. This completly ruins the experience for me as I don't get a chance unless I spend so so so many hours practicing and as a casual gamer (at the very best) I have no way to compete with these players.

I know it's the age old "Well obviously people who play more should be better" - I have no quarms with this, but I would like to be pitched against people more my level...

See this is weird reading DA and Martys comments, I've found exactly the opposite.

Personally I had never played any CoD until the first modern warfare and online on that and in WaW I absolutely struggled with my kill/death ratio, in WaW i was battling to keep it around 0.6 (which is terrible I know)
But in MW2 I've actually got a positive ratio. Think it helps with all the kill streaks now, Supply Drop has been the main saving grace, just need to get 4 kills and I could get something awesome.
In terms of the maps I've not really had much problem with repetition, not sure if it varies from game mode to game mode tho (I've been playing Ground War the whole time, just love having more people in the mix, could also be a reason why I've not experienced the mutiny with players who play it alot more dominating all the time)

In terms of that I would have thought you'd get more of the "elite" players during the day Marty? the poor saps like me who work (or go to school/uni) and are more casual don't just sit around all day playing CoD (don't get me wrong, I would love to be able to do that again :P ).

Also the fact that it's not been out very long won't help with the matchmaking, as with anything you get people who are naturally better at it and the gap between players will be much smaller at the moment than it actually can be (unless I'm mistaken I don't think anyone has made it to Prestige 10 yet, or if they have they haven't been there long)

Oh and the best way to get better at something is to compete against people who are better than you, just think of it that way (thats what killcams are for). And besides, a cynic would say your complaints are just because you are teh sukz0rz at it........fortunately I'm not a cynic tho...much

Accuracy rank means **** all. Doesn't make a blind bit of difference whether someone has 19% accuracy or 20% accuracy. The guy with 19% might score less hits, but he might be using a submachine gun most of the time rather than a sniper rifle.

Essentially what I'm trying to say is that K/D spread gives a better impression of ability (still not a perfect one) than accuracy % does.

Tbh ive found the complete opposite to DA. Overall i sucked at Cod4...i rarely managed to kill more times than i died (not that it bothered me lol) whereas im finding myself at the top of my team on at least half the games ive played over the past few days. I wouldn't say the skill level of players overall has increased at all.

Edit: Im not trying to claim I'm amazing or anything (quite the opposite im sure :p) but just that I haven't found myself matched unfairly against other players/teams so far at all. :D

I will agree that the same maps are popping up a fair bit but i have yet to find a map which i really dislike...all of them seam balanced and fun to me and i keep finding new ways to play them.

So I unleashed the PavLov and instantly fired off the Missile, I then managed to hit the PavLov with my own missile, meaning neither of my bonus killed anything 'cept each other....

Which one is the Apache? is that the one you're the gunner for? Don't think I've actually seen anyone get it if not :/

Yeah its "Chopper" or something like that, but when you're in the seat you hear "Apache gunner, ready to roll" or something to that effect.

Pavelow racks up a few kills but quite quickly gets shot down, Apaches can take a couple of hits (From my experience) and as the gunner you're able to quite easily kill 6-8 people before you're shot down and/or found hiding under a car remote controlling the gunner :P

I've only just properly sussed the new kill streak system - Which I love to be honest. Kill streaks are now based purely on on-the-ground kills you make yourself, not kills from kill streak rewards. I think this is a lot better than the old system that allowed much higher kill streaks because an AC130 got you 15 of em'.

I also retract my last post. A *bit* :P My performance has increased quite a lot lately, I'm now managing to get a + kill/death ratio in most games I play. I maintain, though, that the average player now basically owns. I havent seen anyone playing COD4-2 who sucks arse. That is a massive development in the FPS gaming world, as a couple of years ago most of the people you played were crap.

The effect of this is that you see a lot of very high level players, 50-70, and indeed those in prestige, who have negative kill death ratios. Thats saying something.

My brother has a K/D of about 2.28 while i DID have a k/d of around 1.8 for the first 4 hours of playing then i played 3rd person demolition and now have like 1.2 :(

DA, you realise that the average K/D ratio across the whole cod playing population will be just under 1.00 ? (just under due to suicides). For every person with a positive K/D ratio there's someone with a negative. So not everyone is owning, you probably just have lots of friends who are improving :P

'fraid you're wrong. The only kill streak rewards that don't contribute to your streak are things taken out of care packages/emergency air-drops. Otherwise nukes would be impossible to get :P
The only other possible exception is the pavelow, it seems to be bugged somewhat, sometimes it counts towards your streak, sometimes it doesn't. But all other non care-package rewards do.

So anyway, I'm lovin it atm. My 2 loves in CoD are sniping or using shotguns. So I LOVE the fact that shotguns are generally a lot better in MW2. The last shotgun you unlock - the 1887, is preposterously good. It's range is insane, you can 1 hit kill with it from surprisingly far. And once you unlock akimbo for it it rapes so hard, never have to be caught reloading as you can be firing one while reloading the other. Some of the most fun I've ever had in a CoD game. Plus the reload action when you have it as akimbo is *awesome*. Think Terminator 2 how he spins the shotgun round when on his motorbike :D
Intervention being my favourite weapon, I've always loved sniping.

Another thing which no one has mentioned about MW2 which I like a lot is the callsigns. I kinda like trying to unlock all the titles/emblems, especially the rare harder to get ones. There's a **** load of them so it could keep you going forever trying to get them all. Could be something for people to stroke their epenis on...'Look at me, I have this rare hard to get emblem!'

Some of my concerns have been lessened somewhat. When the game first came out the games were stupidly frantic with all the killstreak rewards. But I think enough people have twigged by now that most of them are ridiculously easy to take down with 1-2 stingers. So they're much less powerful now.
Still not quite so keen on some of the maps, think they've overdone it on trying to make them complicated tbh. It's too up-down warfare rather then side-to-side. As each damn building seems to have 3 storeys of windows people could be poking out of. And I thought chinatown in CoD4 was bad. But I'll get used to it.

Anyway I finally prestiged last night. Pretty pleased with my K/D ratio so far. At 2.24 and rising. I go through phases though, for a few days it dropped to 1.9 or so, but I've had a good few days and it's on the up.

Aye that is my problem, I'm trying to get used to the way the maps are.

If they bring out the default COD4 map pack I'll definitely be getting that.

A lot of the maps for COD-4-2 are very "built up", untold numbers of enemy men sitting in windows just waiting for you to pass by :/ Kinda does my head in sometimes.

I am very dissapointed by the matchmaking system, too - There are 10 or so guys sitting in the lobby and the game divides you up - and you can't help but wonder what the game is basing its "fair" team divisions on. 5-6 players level 30-40s playing against 5-6 40-50/60s, I really would have imagined they'd have sorted this by now and made sure there was a fair and equal number of high level/experienced players on either side - At the moment I'd bet the thing is actually random.

And surely rank isn't the only measure that they use in Matchmaking DA, the matchmaking is also heavily based on players performance in the previous game (from what I can gather), and we all have to start somewhere, I'm sure even Mattheus was a level 30 once :P
And also people playing in parties won't help, which member of the party do you use as the measure for the skill of the group, highest? lowest? middle?

Aye I love the special ops mode, great addition. Just love how many different missions there are and the ones with one person on some sort of heavy weaponry with the other person on the ground are awesome, brings a whole new dimension to it. I haven't even unlocked all the missions yet, need 3 more stars to get the last set.

I've not got nukes Ezekiel, I think a 25 kill streak is a bit beyond me :P

Yeah, we were playing the one where one of you is in an AC130 and the other has to get across the map last night and even I felt a bit sad at how into it we were getting...I believe my mate used the phrase "he's on your 6" lol!

Aha i hear stuff like that all the time, i swear 95% of the game population is >12 ;\ and on a side note, i do find it highly amusing irritating americans over voice chat, they get wound up so easily.

yeah, some americans are just annoying. They think they are god, and when they get pawned, they start dissing other nationalities, actually, even when they win they still do (ONLY SOME OF THEM) obviously, only the dipshits are the ones getting noticed.

Oh, spec ops is awesome fun. I was playing with my mate last night. We finished almost half of all the missions on three stars. Some were quite hard and took a number of goes, and some were not hard at all (race on snowmobile)
Loved the demolition one (destroy all the cars on the bridge) Just get unlimited ammo with the thumper and just blow up the enemy. The sniping one was good too, although hard.

Btw, im guessing a few of have noticed how some of the missions are taken directly from cod4 ? ie the sniper one at least.

And i dont think the online matches are as hectic as everyone said at the start. Ive had **** matches, but i still get matches were i go good. Unfortunately, the matches were i usually come first on my team, we usually get demolished lol.

Havnt had a kill streak above 7 yet, therefore not gonna bother with nuke. i dont think i ever got a 25 kill streak in cod4.

Did the campaign first. I kinda got lost as to who the bad guys were...i couldnt hear half of what was going on as i had the volume low. But it was short.

I think its all good, but i kinda miss the COD4 maps...

And so far ive had only one match with medium lag. All the rest have have been 1 or two bars (ie ****) I MEAN, WITH 60 THOUSAND PEOPLE PLAYING TEAM DEATHMATCH, HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO FIND JUST ONE AVAILABLE GAME WITH AN AUSSIE HOST!?!?!

I'm loving M4 with Scavenger (which is one of the best perks imo), Cold-Blooded and Ninja. Using the Stinger as my secondary so I can unlock Cold-Blooded Pro.

Commando, Marathon and Lightweight with akimbo P90s is also amazingly fun, especially on small maps like Rust.

I did that with CoD4 when testing my xBox for the first time, tipped it over while it was vertical, scratched the disc so it was unreadable!

Found some articles online telling how to repair the discs, and got some car scratch repair stuff, a soft cloth and 15 minutes of elbow grease, and it works perfectly again! :)

Hey Guys... may be retired from Bush, but still find myself passing through the forums now and then lol.

But yeah this is my latest addiction... loving it :) Almost end of first prestige (and will be prestiging ofc).

This first time through I'm just concentrating on getting the 'Mastery' title for the assault rifles... started with autos and now onto the semi-autos. Favourite auto to date, the ACR.... favourite semi is the FAMAS (but just finished it so need to pick my next weapon of choice).

To get the Mastery I have to use nearly all the weapon attachments... so I find Bling-Pro my most useful perk (can work two attachments at once), but use Marathon instead when first using a gun (till I unlock more attachments).

Other perks are generally Stopping Power + Last Stand Pro (love last stand.. got 4 kill streak in Last Stand earlier this week lol, and if you wanna be cheap, you can suicide in Last Stand with a grenade and rob the opposition of points)

Current Killstreaks set... Harriers (7), AC130 (11), Nuke (25). - and finally set off my first nuke 2 days ago :D About to swap AC for Chopper Gunner soon to try that as the AC keeps getting me to 20-21 kill streak but can't seem to get those last few from it. To get my nuke the other day, I got to 21 kills, then a mate lead me around with his Heartbeat Sensor being bait for me lol - took away the risk and scooped the last 4 kills very easily :)

As for rooms... I don't care for my win/loss ratio, so I check connection before match, and if red connection I quit (play if yellow or better). But being aussie, I found the best is get a team of at least 4... and you will have good chance to get host and good connection with minimal work (though i think the invite system needs improvement, it's too clunky and too slow)... but you also may have to quit a couple to get the green connection room - but well worth it.

Anyway as most are o/s, waste of time playing with me, but i noticed Timtadams is aussie, so prompted me to login to forums and post as you're welcome to join me for my almost daily/nightly run n gun sessions (will send you a PM soon) ;)

My only complaint... the damn JOIN option!!!! I don't mid some mates joining, but if you're my mate, and you join my games... don't F*%$*ng camp. That and I have a lot of very good people on my PSN list, I'd prefer to play with em, not against em :p

Try returning the disc to the shop you bought it and ask for an exchange. I did exactly the same thing the other day and Currys gave me a new disc without a quibble.

Just bollock' that all your other discs work fine and that you think it may have been a manufacturing default.

Worth a go.
