well yeah i'm fairly disappointed that this remained in the conversion. or at least wasn't geared more towards hello and newbie friendliness rather than the ego masturbation for everyone leaving in a huff as it is usually used.

It's always going to be mainly goodbyes; most newbs aren't going to want to create a topic just to say hello to lots of people they don't know, whereas lots of people who are leaving are going to want to let people know - Though a little less ego masturbation would be nice. People should get at least a one round ban if they post that they're leaving, but don't. ;)

We should just give them a one round ban if they post. If they are really leaving like they promised, then they won't care ;) Infact they might even appreciate it..
