In no particular order my top 5. Probably a lot more commercial than your cds tho Jorizz. :p
Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos.
Went to their tour when it came to Belgium, Petrucci is still very much the man. :)
65daysofstatic - The destruction of small ideas.
Instrumental group, but they have a fine mix between the emotional touch and the more rocking parts.
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
Especially Map of the Problematiqué. That must be the song of 2007 for me. \o/
Interpol - Our love to admire.
Interpol FTW, 'Nuff said!
Paul Oakenfold - Greatest Hits and remixs (cd 2)
It's actually 2 cd's, but I prefer the second. Been an Oakenfoldfan since a remix he made from New Born by Muse.

Hard-fi: Once Upon a Time in the West
Song highlight: The King
One of the best 'second albums' I've ever heard, not falling into the trap of complacency after their amazing first album, Hard-fi really experiment with new music styles and broadening their horizons, and come up with a great album.

It seems like every 'top albums' list I've read has Arcade Fire (meh) and Justice (not had time to get into :/) in them. Yawn :P
I don't think it was a brilliant year for albums, but I've been mostly listening to:
Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City
Jamie T - Panic Prevention
The Maccabees - Colour It In
Reverend and the Makers - The State of Things
Other albums that I mean to listen to more of from this year but have only got recently:
Babyshambles - Shotters Nation
Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
Les Savy Fav - Lets Stay Friends
Radiohead - In Rainbows
Finally, sorry Hobbe but Black Holes and Revelations was released in the middle of 2006 :P

I'll also Add Nightwish new Album (going to see them in march.. Woo!)
Scouting for Girls
The Hoosiers..
I never buy albums, but when i find a song i like i download the entire album and listen to all of it.. And yeah, these two were completely listenable to.
Oh, and i agree with Arctic Monkeys too!

There were a some good albums at the start of last year I thought but they seemed to dry up towards the end
As well as the already mentioned In Rainbows, Weekend in the City, Icky Thump, Because of the Times, Favourite Worst Nightmare
Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
The Nigh****chman (Tom Morello from RATM's folk alias :o ) - One Man Revolution
And although it was released in 2005, Elbow's Leaders Of The Free World album was my favourite album last year as i only discovered it then :P
QOTSA - Era Vulgaris, took me a few listens to get into but once I did another great album from them
Looking back actually it was a pretty poor year for albums lol lots of disapointing ones when i think of it, incubus, biffy clyro (those 2 were still good just a bit of a let down), arcade fire was a disapointment for me too, interpol as well unfortunately (Antics was a brilliant album, so disapointed).
EDIT: Would like to add the Reverend & the Makers album that a few people have already mentioned to my list, finally got round to getting it today and what a bloody beast it is :D

Radiohead - In Rainbows. thanks for that one Jorizz. I completely missed it when it came out.
Bruce Springsteen - Magic. At first I thought it was a bit dull, but after a few listens it really grew on me.
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - Raising Sand. Some really nice songs on this, especially Led Zep's "Please Read The Letter" and "Killing The Blues".
Queens Of The Stone Age - Era Vulgaris. Yes, Treedude, you were right. It is good and I was wrong.
Sigur Ros - Hvarf And Heim. There's a brilliant live version of "Agaetis Byrjun" on it, as well as "Hjomalind", a new single.
John Butler Trio - Funky Tonight. Some more commercial stuff from JB.
