If I'm gonna go all the way and dish out money for blueprints
should I go with bots or rexes?
I could make an argument for either one, but I'd like some experienced feedback especially on the bots if anyone has any :o

active and want gargs for mid tick scraps
solo and you want to basically never lose land again trexes
Last round i went scraps to get some gargs i got like atleast 100k gargs the entire round and i got them on like day 30 :P i was constantly loseing my scraps to incs and i was in a rnked 8 + ally.... its tough to scrap

as saints said, it is really all up to your individual play style.
If you are active and you want to plan some attacks and defense around scrapping to get gargs, then have fun with gargs and scrapbots...
if you cba for all that then go trex everytime. scrapbots imo are only going to be useful if you have a plan and work towards getting as many as you can. if you just want a nice punit that will absolutely smash everything on the board, T-Rex baby.
a) T-Rex's can be bought
b) scraps have to be bought then convert quite a bit to equal gargs. you can only convert mechanical/robotic. killing fleshy units with scraps are meaningless. you will never be able to buy a million or millions of gargs

Scrap bots are the most over rated unit out there you get naff all gargs for a tonne of effort.
Get trex :)

Dont listen to them, get MAss PA's and Scrap Bots and hunt Vamp players with GArgoyles all round. Brilliant way of getting gargans :D

Your gargs will prolly never fire.
Well neither will your rexes. But owning which tick is more usefull to you?
Middle or last.
I went scrap bots when they first became available, and they are very handy indeed. You can fire very early on the last tick (great for any alliance defence) and they make nice flak against strikers (if they are a particular problem / enemy for you!).
But personally, I would choose to get gargantuas over T-Rexes everytime because they are more usefull. If you go on an attack, then if your T-Rexes fire they won't be able to change the outcome of the battle (if you're after land) as it fires so late. However, sending gargantuas is great, since they are brilliant at killing NLTs and NLDs (which your other units are not nearly as good at killing).
Clearly, the higher ranked you are the harder it is to get gargantuas, but the conversion rate is amazing (about 75%) and those gargantuas will scare a lot of incoming away by their mere presence :P
As for T-Rexes, they are nice sweepers (firing after news vans) and they are available on demand. But sadly, they lack the firepower and versatility of the Gargantua (IMO of course).
Hope that helps :)

T-Rex are absolutely essential if being last ticked by poms is your problem. They keel dem buggers good. You are trying to attack an alliance but their uber poms keep blocking the land and avoiding heavy losses? no problem, throw a couple million trexes in the mob. Trexes definitely will deplete gurus in a quick hurry.
Poms and Gurus are good for last tick so they don't have to be there when the gargs fire.
Last tick power ftw! (try teaming them with a nutter players attack dogs for some good laughs)

If you have enough units let to 'scrapbot' last tick, then you need to learn how to use your route properly, T-Rex always, I had Scraps all round once, and I only got like 1k Gargs, and I am a very active attacker

Hmm
Don't scrap bots convert so technically they like the vampire can actually kill units?

That's a very good point :D
Vampires convert a small part of the unit cost they kill into lessers while scraps are very close to 100%. So in the fix for converting units there must be a diferent way to give back injuries than: injuries on (damage taken - cost of converted units) as i think it was sugested somewhere. But until it's fixed scraps should be deadly:o
last round i managed to get 650k gargs after a pure week of doing nothing but attacking thugs with pa/scraps (pa killed all the lets but the jeeps) 5 mil would usually get me about 50k i attacked BW and didnt calculate his tl so he ended up with 40 mil tl that would have pwned me verry hard as i only had about 12 mil pa and 6 mil cw and 650k garg attacking him i had a pom player i beleave and maybee a rpg following me and he was going to last tick them so they recalled and he came to fight me middle tick he hacked me and didnt notice the gargantua end result my gargantua won me the battle i lost almost none though lost just about all my other lets lol the gargantua killed somthing like 10 mil tl

You gained 132,633 effectiveness.
His INNs were more or less wiped last tick (with the exception of some that the terrors took out this tick), so what remained was SDs, shields and CW's. So the gargs did about 100b dmg. How can you not love these beauties?!

Scrap bots are hard work, but Gargs are far superior to T-rexes based on killing ratios. If you aren't in a top alliance then you can run around converting all the inactive Mil/Robos. Otherwise go with T-rexes, they dont die easy and are great last tick defence.
I usually take Rexes through sheer convenience.
